Daily Bread is a food store in Gilead where Handmaids, Marthas and Econowives buy daily supplies for their respective households. Like all the other food stores available, its items are actually exchanged for Tokens instead of money.
The store's name is a reference to a line from the Lord's Prayer, found in Matthew 6-11.
In the book, Offred mentions the store is an option for households that are short on bread. It offers "dried-up rolls and wizened doughnuts", an indicator that its products have low quality.
